Better than Aiken
My son had a brain tumor removed last year and they took great care of him. The staff is incredibly kind and the doctors are great at what they do.
The registration lady was very rude and every time we bring our special needs child there it is the worst experience ever! I do not understand how they can treat not only the patients but the parents the way they do! I am very knowledgeable in my son's condition and the medical profession, but they never take in account his needs. The main reason I brought my son in was concerns of dehydration and was told to continue to syringe feed my child so he does not become dehydrated instead of them taking action and making sure he is well hydrated. My child has almost died 3 times in their hands and the only reason we continue to have to bring him there is because they have specialist rather than other hospitals around!
Don't go to this hospital for any reason. I went there for a bleeding ulcer. They spent over 3 hours doing what should have been a 30 minute procedure (and did not do it correctly) and then sent me home without checking to see if I was still bleeding . In fact, the doctor who had done the procedure NEVER came to check on my condition. I was still bleeding, and within 24 hours I was rushed to a different hospital, received 8 units of blood to stabilize me, and then was rushed to yet another hospital for emergency surgery, four more units of blood, and several days in the ICU.. In my opinion, MCG hospital's GI staff is totally incompetent, and I would not take the chance that any of the departments can provide even standard medical care.
Not a fan. Appointment is 3 hrs behind. My child hasn't ate due to her procedure. Hospital staff walking past our room with McDonald's. No one has seems to know anything about times when they are asked.
